Safe access and perimeter protection for roof repair and maintenance works as part of a full refurbishment at the JCT 6 Industrial Estate.
The Challenge
- Designing a safe and practical access staircase that allowed multiple trades to access the roof efficiently
- Installing roof perimeter edge protection on an industrial building with complex roof layouts
- Minimising disruption to ongoing refurbishment activities
- Maintaining high safety standards throughout erection, use, and dismantle
What We Did
- Provided a secure access staircase, enabling trades to reach all areas of the roof safely
- Installed robust edge protection around the roof perimeter to protect workers during refurbishment and maintenance
- Close coordination with Hitchens Contractors to align scaffold erection and dismantle with the refurbishment schedule
- Comprehensive risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) prepared for all works
- Inspections and monitoring throughout the project to ensure continued compliance with health and safety legislation
